Bulk Delete Google Workspace Users Aliases with GW Manager

Delete User Aliases

Welcome to GW Manager.

In this video, we will show you how you can delete user aliases in bulk in Google Workspace using GW Manager.

For that, you'll go to your Google sheet, click on extensions.

You should see GW Manager.

If you need help with the installation, please visit GW Manager installation guide here.

For now, I will click on launch, to launch the sidebar of GW Manager.

Install and Launch GW Manager - google sheets add-on for google workspace admins

Once the add-on is launched, you'll first need to insert a sheet, so you can provide which user aliases to be deleted.

You can either go to Manage Utilities, and click on insert sheets, execute, and it'll install all the sheets for you.

Otherwise, if you're just interested in deleting user aliases for now, you can go to Manage User Aliases, click on "Delete User Aliases", and click on Execute to first insert that sheet.

Insert Delete User Aliases sheet in GW Manager

GW Manager will insert that sheet and take you there.

It is asking for the user's primary email and the user aliases that you want to delete from this primary email, because one user might have more than one email alias.

I've copied that information, so I'll simply paste it. I'm deleting these aliases from these users.

If you want to delete two aliases from one user, you need to provide that information in separate rows.

Enter user aliases details to be deleted

For example, Jake has two aliases, Jake and jake.new, and I'm mentioning that in separate rows.  To prove that, I'll go to Jake's user profile in Google Workspace admin console, do a reload and I see Jake has two email aliases.

We'll go back to the sheet, I'll select "run delete user aliases", and click on execute.

Click "Execute" in GW Manager to initiate User Aliases deletion

Within a few seconds, GW Manager will start deleting these user aliases based on your input, and it says it was successful.  All the user aliases are deleted.

GW Manager confirms successful User Aliases deletion

Now, if you go back to Jake, and do a quick reload, we should not see these two.

And they're gone.

User Aliases are no longer visible in Google Workspace Admin Console

This is how you can quickly delete user aliases from either all or some of your users.

You can do much more with GW Manager and we are constantly adding new features based on customers' feedback.
